White Trash Christmas

Nuts, chocolate and your favorite cereal. Yum

Nothing says Christmas like junk food around the house. Right?   Jack and I decided to get off the grill to put together something fun for the Holiday.  It’s called “White Trash” and you can tweak the recipe any way you wish.

Don’t take offense… it’s mixed up and prepared in a new and clean white trash bag thus the name.

Mix in peanuts, almonds, your favorite cereal, whatever… it’s capped off with a coating of powdered sugar.  It had us in the kitchen saying…”Step AWAY from the White Trash.”

White Trash Christmas Treat

Sounds crazy but trashy is good in this recipe where you mix all ingredients in a fresh white trash bag. Watch that you don't use a scented bag (yeah they make those!). It's a neat treat for gift giving too.

  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 bag chocolate chips - 16oz
  • 1 and 1/2 cups smooth peanut butter
  • 1 box Golden Grahams cereal
  • 3 cups salted peanuts
  • 1 and 1/2 cups almonds or pecans
  • 1 box golden raisins
  • 1 small box confectioner's sugar

  1. Melt butter, chocolate chips and peanut butter over low heat, stirring until smooth. Add cereal, nuts and raisins and stir until well coated. Cool slightly and pour mixture into a new clean unscented trash bag. Add confectioner's sugar to the bag and shake vigorously. Dance Gangnam Style. Break up any large chunks and shake again.
