Hey guys, I never thought I would have to ask this question but....our local Giant Eagle will not be custom slicing a ham anymore because of safety reasons they say. The will cut a whole ham in half but will not slice off ham steaks. Is there a small hand held meat saw that you recommend? Thanks! Brian Hewit

Hey Brian,

Any hack(metal) saw will do. The blades are very similar. If you go that route, buy it new and make sure you dedicate it to food service only and it will do the trick. I own a few different sizes of meat saws. My favorite can be purchased at Northern tool at a reasonable price. I have a larger one also that I bought at Allied Kennco some years ago.

Northern Tool

Butchering services might be a reason I shop at another store for my ham. Side note: Cut the meat with a knife and the bone with the saw. Best in Q! Jack
